The Breadbasket of South Korea: Madagascar

This is a Time article about South Korean company, Daewoo, leasing millions of acres of land in Madagascar to satisfy the demand for food in South Korea. The article doesn't say if the company is going to bulldoze trees for more farmland, or lease already-developed farmland. As long as it is not an environmental disaster, I think it's a good thing to employ locals who need jobs. Much better than paying money directly to the corrupt government.
